I tried the 1/4 inch jacks and switched to the digital jacks and the voicelive2 is the noisiest channel in my 10 channel (8 x 1/4 - XLR combination pre-amp inputs)breakout box. Its an Aardvark Q10 and I REALLY like it. Too bad they were bad at marketting this is the coolest piece of gear.
So the only thing I can think of off the top of my head is sing louder when I'm doing the audition (HOLD FOR MIC GAIN) in the beginning. Is there a way to manually set that and can it memorize it, or am I going to have to belt it out every time I fire up my VL2?

thanks a lot.

p.s.

my latest not my greatest.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1x9js6vrXng

my greatest hasnt' been done yet. nothing great.

Effects Rookie Looking to Make My Horn a Little Saxier

I play sax in a cover band. Pretty simple set up. Plug the mic into the board and play.

I’ve been wanting to do something a little different and have been toying with some ideas. My research has brought me to the possibility of getting a vocal effects pedal. Both from an ease of connectivity perspective and for what they can do. I have basically no knowledge about this type of equipment other than what I've been researching the past few days. I like the idea of harmonies, octaves, chorus sounds, etc to help me at times sound bigger or different. So I was looking at the Harmony G-XT as an option.

Is it necessary to have another instrument coming through the pedal (guitar in this case) to achieve the correct results with some of the effects. For example, major vs. minor chords, etc. Would a possible solution be to take the lead or rhythm guitar through the pedal and then into his own pedal/amp rig? Would this change his sound at all? I'm guessing this is what a non playing vocalist does when using one?

I’m open to other suggestions too around equipment I might be able to use or the best way to use something like the G-XT and not create any sound issues for my band (feedback, etc). Is there a place where I can go to learn about the proper way to set something like this up?

Thanks!!

Hello,
I rrecently bought this produt. At first I was able to hear my guitar through the speakers through the guitar in. Then I tried using the guitar thru and it works fine with my amp and pedals. Now i tried to use only the guitar in with no pedals and I cant get a sound through my speakers... the pedal seems to get the signal in since I can tune it and it even shows the level of the guitar when plucked in the mix visual area.... and the guitar thru is disconnected.... I have no clue what could it be,,,

Harmony G-Xt: A plethora of problems

I originally bought a VL2, but heard some latency even when the effects were disengaged. Instead, I bought a HG-XT and heard no latency. The first one I received refused to pass guitar signal, so I returned it and got another. The 2nd G-XT worked fine for a while but then started passing "garbled" vocal, even with harmonies disengaged. If I reset (by turning off and then back on), it would work properly for about 15 minutes and then once again pass pass "garbled" audio. I assumed the unit was defective, so I returned it and got another. The new one does the same thing - garbled audio. I e-mailed tech, but have yet to hear back. Rather irritated that no phone number is available - I feel I could have resolved this issue quickly with a simple phone call. Thought I would try the forum, but I am about to give up on TC and buy the BOSS unit.
-me

P.S. - I am no dummy; I own a recording studio, have performed professionally for quite a few years and have a PhD. I tried all the obvious solutions - cables, mics, re-boot...I am wondering if the problem is with the new software update...HELP!

Hello,

is there a way to change (and save) the Volume of the Presets of Voicetone Create XT ?

In the Mix of a Band it is necessary to adjust the Volumes of the Presets.

For example to push a Chorus, or to match a part of the Song that has less Instruments, or to raise the volume of presets that are quiter as other. (Transducer, High or Low Shelf Cuts, Megaphone etc.)

It is really difficult to find 2 (A & B) Presets that match for a Song, because of the different Volumes of the Presets.

Thanks, Marcus.

Voicetone Correct and Create-XT Chaining/effects conflicting?

Hello, a pre-thanks for the help. I've read the manuals (both the sketchy v1 and the v1.1b) and the forum, and still need help.

I sing live weekly at a loud medium-sized restaurant, so I invested in the Voicetone Correct pedal first and then added the new Create-XT. The chain is Sennheiser Wireless Vocal Set Mic >> Correct (all knobs but gain at 12oclock & set to adaptive) >> Create-XT >> Mixing board (with no EQ or effects active).

I got the pedals to get a better EQ so that the loud crowd can hear me, and to get some *good* reverb.

The VT Correct manual had some advice about chaining with the old VT Create pedal, but the new Create-XT adds some features that seem to conflict with the Correct and the sound I'm getting is very trebly and fake sounding.

After investing all this money in them, and trying various things over several weeks, the club manager just keeps saying they make my audio sound

Anyone else having problems getting your Harmony G-XT to swich settings? I can go easily from A-B on the left footswitch, but getting it to change presets is tough....usually takes four or five tries...way to much waiting for the audience. I've had it for a couple of months, and it started out fine....then slowly it's becoming very difficult to make it switch. I'm a sit-down solo acoustic act, so I'm not a wild man who's damaged it by stomping hard on the thing. It travels in a padded hardshell case with the mic, etc: so it's not getting banged around at all. Anyone else had this problem...and found a solution? I'm a little shy about adding lubrication because it feels like it's moving easily and I don't want to gunk it up.

Switching between presets on stage (Voicelive Synth)

Hello!

I'm on the way (within a couple of days) to purchasing Voicelive Synth, and I have one question regarding the way the presets work. Is it possible to switch back and forth between presets on the voicelive synth, or do you have to switch through all of the ten presets to get back to the one you used before? While playing on stage I might need to switch between two presets (say hardtune(that i fixed on preset 2 for instance) on the verses and vocoder (that i configured on preset 3) on the choruses, and I needed to do switch back to preset 2 after using preset 3 immediately). Do I then have to make copies of the presets (for example the hardtune on 1,3,5 and vocoder on 2,4,6 in my case) in order to Just stomp once and have the effect of the preset before? Excuse me if I wasn't clear enough in the explanation of the question.

Thanks in advance, I find you're products top notch (so far).
Sivert

Delay/Reverb Effects

Hi there,

Could someone please recommend to me a unit that will provide decent delay effects? I have a few criteria for it to meet..

It can be either rack or floor.

I need it to be able to store settings so that either myself or our sound engineer can switch between settings for different songs. I don’t want to have to change settings manually for every song.

It needs to be affordable as I am on a budget - absolute maximum of around £150 GBP. I don't mind buying used if necessary.

I don't need a harmonizer unit, so if I'm going to be paying a premium because a particular unit has a harmonizer, then that's a no-no. Quite literally, all I need it delay and maybe some reverb. the effects in our desk are not as flexible as I'd like.

I do not want the Voicetone Create - I had one a while ago and hated it. It was needlessly difficult to get a delay I wanted out of it and changing patches on the fly was a P.I.T.A

I'm running a Shure SLX wireless system with Beta 87a mic, into a Voicetone Correct for a bit of subtle EQ and then into the desk.

I've seen various Lexicon units on Ebay but there are so many I don't know which are good - and none of the music shops around here stock them.

I hope someone can help!

Many thanks in advance!

Sean

Hi!

My name's Jay and I'm the drummer for an operatic/gothic metal band called Cassandra Syndrome. We just picked up the Create XT as we felt it'd be a great way to add some basic vocal effects to our female lead singer, Irene, as well as some more unique spot effects (like for a bridge or something with extra delay).

Anyhoo, we haven't had a lot of time to play with it yet and only used it in practice for the first time last night. I've already had to dial the Tone to the "less brightness" setting, but the "Showcase" reverbs themselves still seem overly bright. I was hoping that some of the more experienced here might be able to make some recommendations?

Any ideas or assistance would be most appreciated!

Jay
