I'm new here and I have some good ear but a problem with my singing. My problem is because around C#4 I switch my chest voice into another register, and I can't sustain a chest sound, so the next notes sound like "head voice" in the scale of notes. (I'm an adult)

This is a problem, because I used to sing like closing the throat for the high notes, so I kept a kind of a chestier voice, but for me it wass impossible because I felt the strain with the closing of the throat, and because I crack all over the place, I can't sustain a whole song this way.

It's a pity because most of songs, included the song I sing here, contain notes above C4. My head voice can go really high but I can't paste it in the song naturally.

This is me singing Fly me to the moon (Frank Sinatra)

http://picosong.com/3Mh5

about lows I can hit as low as G2 in a scale

I've loved to sing as long as I could remember. I never thought I was that good though, so I wouldn't sing in front of anyone. However, I joined a choir a few years ago, and I found that I actually had a pretty good voice. I mean, not like professional singer good, but "Hey, let's actually learn a few songs" good.

I've played violin all my life. I think it's important to do things right. So I want to find a few songs to work on that actually work WITH my voice instead of against it.

I'm kinda a Contralto. I can hit E3 on a normal day, and D3 if I warm up enough (I can sing most the bass parts in my choir music!). I can only sing up to about F5 before it starts sounding like a wimpy fairy. My midrange is from about F4 to A4, with none of them being that strong, but I can hit them (choir arrangers, however, seem to think that those are the perfect notes to hold out for 8 beats...). My lower ranges is strong and powerful, but not the characteristic dark tone of a Contralto. My upper range has a very "pretty" tone, with a nice vibrato. My upper upper range is, as I said, wimpy.

I've been looking for songs, but most songs for girls go UP to show the high range. For me, though, going up makes my voice sound wimpy. I found that "The Long and Winding Road" fits pretty well, but I'm trying to find something other that a love song.

Oh, and I love Jazz. Not a huge fan of Pop. Love Broadway songs.

And I'm an extremely optimistic person, so songs about sad things never seem very sincere...

Any ideas would be amazing! Thanks!
