Topic: Totally confused about set up (voiceworks)

The voiceworks manual contradicts the vyzor editor manual. First off, I'm trying to get this connected to my audio interface (Focusrite Saffire Pro24) and then control the harmonies with my midi keyboard, using the vyzor editor as a VST in Cubase 5. The Vyzor manual doesn't say anything about hooking it up with a keyboard, so I'm totally confused on what to do.

I'd like to be able to control the harmonies while singing live into a mic while in my sequencer, but I'd also like to use voiceworks on pre-recorded audio. I don't know if this requires two different setups. There's like, 10 different manuals to read through between the editor and voiceworks and I've pretty much read through all of them, but I'm not finding any easy, clear answers. Thanks for any help.

Hiya AKR,

I have very little experience with the Vyzor editor, however I can probably help you with how to hook up your Voiceworks.

Could you give me an idea of how you have this set up? In Cubase you should have your keyboard to the midi input of the Saffire, then, the midi output would go to the Voiceworks. You can then set your midi cubase track to recieve input from the input and send the midi data to the output thus feeding the Voiceworks.

In regards to working with pre-recorded audio - are you using a midi track to guide the harmony or did you wish to set keys etc for this?

Best wishes,

Joey

Re: Totally confused about set up (voiceworks)

Thanks for replying. My keyboard is plugged into my computer via firewire. Is this ok, or should I plug it into my audio interface like you're saying?

For pre-recorded audio, I'd like to try both a midi track and the voiceworks presets.

Ok, I got it to where I have my signal passing through voiceworks into my sequencer, but it's only receiving some of the harmonies. I set up spdif L & R channels, but you can't choose both at once, so the harmonies are different, depending on whether you choose the left or right channels for your input. This is way too confusing.

Hiya AKR,

I presume your keyboard is plugges in via USB, not firewire. This is ok if you can see it as a midi device.

Basically, it shouldn't be too hard once you have it set up correctly. I would suggest you contact our support theam as they will be able to take you through the setup process step by step. You can contact them via the following link:

Please let me know how you get on with this.

Best wishes,

Hi,

I'm not sure how to post a quiestion.  I was able to access this form so I will try.  I have just purchased voice works rack mount.  I am trying to record harmony vocals similar to the group "Alabama".

When I sing the the first part, the harmony is right on.  When I change to the nest chord, the harmony is off.  For example,, I start playing in G, but when I move to C or D, the harmony is wrong.

What do I need to do?

Joe

Hiya Joe,

The best thing to do would be to contact TC-Helicon's support team via the following link:
