Topic: VoiceLive 1: "Mix" screen pops up. Not sure if it is an issue.

I just got a new VL1. This doesn't seem to happen all of the time but often, as I'm switching presets, the LED readout changes to "MIX" and the LCD screen goes to the mix screen where you set the lead, harm voice, etc, volumes.  If I switch preset again, the preset name flahses on screen for a fraction of a second then it goes back to the MIX screen.  If I leave it on a setting long enough the MIX screen will go away.
Is this a problem or is the unit supposed to do this like it's telling me I need to set the MIX?

Thanks!

Hi Charles - You are experiencing a known design defect with the VL1.  No matter what you do, the situation will continue to get worse until it locks up completely.  Return the unit to TC Helicon for modifications ASAP.  As it is new, the repair will be covered.  Figure about 3 weeks or so until you get it back, depending on their workload.  Once it comes back, it should work fine and you will be very pleased with the sound!  Good luck.

Well, fortunately for me, a fellow musician was interested in the unit even after I told him about the problem. He took it off my hands and said he will deal with the problem himself. After using the unit in practice a few times I was thinking about downsizing to the Harmony Gxt so I think that's what I'll do.
Thanks!

Hi there. Had this same problem and found this forum. Wondering – is this defect present in every single VL1 unit?
