Topic: Beginner

Hello,

I'm new to the forum and I am interested in learning how to sing properly and play  with in a band or whatever. Although I have some (not much) experience of singing, on a skill level I have little knowledge of how to sing - I've only done harmonies in acoustic sets and such.

I prefer singing acoustic stuff and rock type stuff - If anyone could give me some tips on where to start and where to find tutorials that would be great smile

Anything will do.

Thanks a lot.

Re: Beginner

If you can afford it, the best thing to do is get a voice coach. Even if you don't stay with it long, it will make a huge difference very quickly, if you get a good one. To find a good one, check with music stores in your area.

If you can't afford that right now, do some Googling (Binging?) and look for some basics. Then record yourself and listen with an honest ear. You can make decent progress even on your own that way, but I don't think there's any substitute for getting time with someone who can give you guidance based on experience.
