Topic: X1 - Single Distortion, Megaphone etc - Constant Feedback issues

Hi there,

I have the X1 Single for using a distortion and or megaphone effect for different songs..

Primarily I am using it in the rehearsal studio & I am constantly having feedback issues which is very frustrating as I end up not using it at all. 

I have the gain at its lowest setting & always try to have the PA speakers facing away as much as possible etc...

I use a Sennheiser E835 and have a powered foldback. 

I previously owned a TC Helicon Create XT and sold it as it was very difficult to use etc etc...

I am not sure if the problem is just because of the close proximity of the rehearsal room or if its something else (i.e. microphone etc). 

Any feedback (excuse the joke..) would be appreciated!

one of the bands I work with uses one and I've had this issue a few times - its gotta be away from your monitors and the 835 might not cut it - a super or hypercard mic would be better - I used an OM7 and it worked great in most venues.

Did you try adjusting the output - there's a bit in the manual about that and it helped me a couple times...

Global Effect Volume Trim
You can raise or lower the effect active level versus the effect off level if desired. You can raise the effect level in situations where feedback is not as much of an issue or lower it when feedback is an issue.
To adjust Global Effect Trim: While holding the footswitch turn the Drive control right from the center default to increase the level up to 6dB or turn it left to reduce the level up to 6dB

Thanks so much for the tips.. i've lowered the 'global' gain approx 3db so will try that as a starting point. 

will try out mic's if necessary but all starts to get expensive for an effect hey!
