Topic: maximum guitar input level

Hello!
I just wanted to ask one thing.
I have an overdrive pedal connected before my VL Touch. Is it possible to damage VL if I turn the level on pedal to maximum and guitar level at VL to 25 too?
I mean, is there any kind of protection? Or I should be very carefull with levels?

Hi Alex,

As far as I know, you can't "blow up" the input on the Touch with a hot guitar level coming in. By turning up the guitar input to 25, you're likely distorting the distortion, if that makes any sense... you're better off to put the pedal after the Thru on the Touch, on the way to your guitar amp. If you're not using an amp, then it's conceivable that your guitar output is just on the low side and needs a lot of gain along the way.
