Topic: Workable footswitch for the TC Helicon Rack

I don't know if the TC Helicon Switch 3 is available yet.  Is the TC Electronic G switch the same or a different foot switch?  Thanks, I already messed up and put this question in the wrong category, but I would like the answer.

Hiya DennyC,

You can definitely experiment with other footswtiches. I know that the S3 has been a bit of a nightmare to get ahold of, but we've just finished manufacturing a whole bunch, so hopefully they will become available to you very soon.

Thanks,
Craig

Re: Workable footswitch for the TC Helicon Rack

Thanks Craig.  I was hoping that you could tell me if the The TC Electronic g switch will work or not with the TC Helicon Voice Live Rank.  I don't want to bother ordering it and then finding out that I need to return it.  I would rather wait for the "official" TC Helicon switch 3.

Re: Workable footswitch for the TC Helicon Rack

Hi DennyC,

I'll check out the specs on the g switch and double check its compatibility with an engineer tomorrow.

Cheers,
Craig

Re: Workable footswitch for the TC Helicon Rack

I have a G-Switch pedal and yes it does work. Switched to MIDI pedal though for Momentary control options.

Thanks Mojo.

Re: Workable footswitch for the TC Helicon Rack

G-Switch works fine, as does the Digitech FS300 and FS3X...

Re: Workable footswitch for the TC Helicon Rack

I used a standard pedal with the VoiceWorks plus to switch (on/off harmony) for years connecting via a 1/4" stereo (TRS) plug to two mono sockets splitter, connecting the pedal to the unit as switch 1. I just upgraded to the VoiceLive Rack and used the same hookup and it works fine. Keep in mind you must change the unit's setup for switch one to do harmony (or whatever else you want, as it defaults to stepping patches).

I'd like the momentary switch capability, but I've gotten so used to the on/off that its hardly a problem. I use a three pedal unit under my keyboard and use the middle pedal for the harmony.

You can make your own splitter with connectors/wire from Radio Shack or Google shop for them. You can find the schematics kindly provided by TC Helicon at:
