I never liked steroid athletes, because overall, they don't enhance the degree of competition (as others simply have to also take steroids) or appreciation of sports. I've never liked most cosmetic surgery, because its overall competition created don't increase all women's chance of being loved.
And there are definitely downside to all these artificial means. (BTW, singing improvements can be made in the body too. Just take some acid-reducers--studies have shown something like 80% of acid reflux singers sing better using acid reducers. Problem is even the latest ones, proton inhibitors, are shown to reduce bone density.)
The market economy is competitive, so basically, if others use it, it forces you to use it too. Don't blame you one bit.
My opinion though is that these technologies have gone way too far. Removing talent (should we really consider steroided Roger Clemens and Barry Bonds or the recent Yankees as the best ever?). Now that I understand all the techniques used in recording (amazing!), I think the line should be drawn at live. I'm suggesting that such synvocalist become more publicized--so people know what is real and isn't.
The clubs would pay just as much, (and even more for real talent), if EVERYONE stopped using these. This is a market and technology difficulty, not an individual choice issue.
I actually like recordings modified. These represent what the "ideal" situation can be. But, I'm aware the recordings are synthetic. When I see someone live, I expect to see real. The market will win, but hope still exists.
