Topic: The VSM300-XT

I was wondering if you could answer my query before I buy it

At home, I need to practice singing with a mic (hearing my own voice, going through songs with piano, etc.) I do not have any speakers. I was wondering if I could use the VSM-300XT to practice with. Will it produce a good sound with some reverb, rather than just a flat voice with no reverb? Or do I need to buy an effects pedal too?

I have a Sennheiser e935 mic.

In the future I will be buying more gear. But for now, I will be gigging with my friends PA, and rehearsing with the guys at college where they already have the other gear. It's just my time at home where I want to practice on my vocals.

Re: The VSM300-XT

Thanks Rychemaiden,

I will eventually get some in-ears for certain gigs, ;-)

I use the VSM all the time - bottom line, no effects. Throw a Create on there, and you should have enough effects to keep it interesting.

Thanks for your posts everyone!

Re: The VSM300-XT

I also use the VSMs all the time. I have a pair that I mount beside the keys for live shows, I use one on a mic stand for an acoustic foursome and I use them at home for vocal practice as well. They also double as a great mini PA!

I like them because they really don't color the sound and cut through very nicely on stage too....which is good when you have a horn section standing directly behind you! Having the ability to push the mic and keys through the unit before it gets to FOH also gives you a ton of on stage flexibility too. Hands down the best purchase in my pieces of gear for vocals......the pedals and mics are worthless if you can't hear yourself.

That said...IEM's would be great too!

If you have an instrument, you are a musician!
