Topic: Newbie Using VoiceLive2 For Set List

Was curious, as a new VL2 user, how others are using their VL2's in live performance in coordingation with their set lists?

Here is what I think I should do when using VL2 live for the first time; maybe some others have a better method. (I haven't used my VL2 live yet)

For each song in my set, I will set up a preset with the effects that I want, and then name the "tweaked" preset for the song, such as, "Bye Bye Love."  Then, in my set, when it's time to play "Bye Bye Love," I will call up that preset.  When done playing that song, I will move on to the next preset I've created, "When Will I Be Loved."  etc.

Does this sound like the right method, or does anyone have any other methods they are using to set up thier set lists in live performance that might be more efficient?

Hiya Ray,

From what I've read it looks like you are doing the right thing here. I agree that  it's a good idea (for me anyway) to name the presets with the same name as the song just in case the set list changes at the last minute for some reason smile

Best wishes,

Joey

Re: Newbie Using VoiceLive2 For Set List

For live performance I prefer to keep things simple. I use as few different settings as possible. I noticed I use the same harmony-setting for a lot of songs anyway (3rd up). As for the other effects: I occasionally use doubling, thickening and a light flange. These are all programmed in one setting, so usable for most songs. Reverb is added by the FOH-tech.
For some songs I made specific settings (choirs etc)

This works great for me, but you'll have to see for yourself if this way is usable for you. The naming of the presets is indeed very important.

Re: Newbie Using VoiceLive2 For Set List

Thanks again, Joey... I knew I had to be on the right track; figuring all this out in my mind, since I just got my VL2 last week, and have had very little, if any, time to really check it out...

Mike:  I feel I will be doing about the same thing as you, using very few presets actually or changing them very much.  I want to keep things as simple as possible too...   I'll see how it all goes, maybe I'll just need three or four presets set-up, instead of naming one for each song; it does sound kind of tedious.  smile

Hiya Ray,

No problem. Glad this helped.
