Ohh I had an ideaaaa:

why don't introduce in the preamp section an emulating section with a number of microphone input models and another set of output models so you can use an MP.75 sounding like a Neumann KMS 104 or a Sennheiser e965 or whatever you can model?
The preamp section too could introduce a tube emulation (not in the mmod section, but in the preamp)

they gave us not later than christmas 750 presets translated from VLP...

if the firmware works ... everything it's ok...

we have to put some specific request in the new features topic.. hoping they could realize it

in the export section you can choose all presets as a single file or a file for every preset

it's a question of experience..
You'll learn trying in a few time..
You see the guitarist playing with is knobs... they can see you.. for a coulple of gigs in the sound check

Another thing I can suggest is to reduce input level and fix the gate (in the setup options) at about -17, -20 db.

It means that no sounds under  -20 db will be kept by the microphone.
You'll need to sing vloud and close to the mic, but it means that only the sounds loud and close to the mic will be played.
Consider that if you'l sing some low level parts you could hear the voice going away like continuous on-off (i'm not finding the english word for that sorry)

Yes I did as Tacman, I have a lot of presets set to reduce, cancel or had the harmony with the expression pedal

I really apologize .. I forgotten completely to do what promised about the parameters, they're a lot, and I hadn't time.
Hope I can do it soon

767 rock on...

ohh yes I'm the one that realized that preset.. and it's ok for Def Leppard choirs.
The problem is that is not directly usable on other gear than VL2 and I don't know how to translate it for VLR I can't do it in the next few days but some later I coould try to copy the parameters and write it down so you could reproduce in you unit. But don't wait it fo one week at least.

if it have been a sennheiser e945 .. I could have been interested, as I haven't a sennheiser in my mic bag, and that microphone is in my wish list...

but I think the 835 is an SM58 like microphone, and.. I think MP75 (that I have) is far more superior than it. It's my preferred dynamic microphone after EV767.
So.. this time.. I.. pass over... smile and I stay with my mic.

Hi,

What you "could" do, is patch mic to a desk (buy a cheap one), send out of desk to the mic input on the VL2, Then set the VL2 to stereo out.  Then use a second send to the Kronos for the dry.  The dry isn't in stereo as there is only one of you (and one mic) smile

You'll have a dry from the desk and wet stereo (with stereo effects) from the VL2.

You could get creative with dual mic to desk and record dry panned that way to Kronos, but the mics as a stereo pair will only capture the "one of you (i.e. single person)" timed according to mic placement.

...

To add, (just reading the Kronos manual).
Rather than a desk, go Mic into Kronos;
Mic/Line Inputs 1 and 2 - The inputs use balanced 1/4” TRS connectors (so XLR (mic) to TRS (Kronos input)

Then use the Audio Out's (or one of them) to go to the VL2 using individual.
(INDIVIDUAL) 1…4 (page 198 - Routing to IFX, outputs, and buses)
These 4 additional audio outputs let you isolate sounds, audio inputs, or audio tracks for recording or complex live sound setups.  The outputs are TRS, so you'll need TRS (kronos) to XLR (VL2 input).

Use one Individual out to the VL2 (you WILL need to gain stage the two - follow the VL2 manual along with the output level from the Kronos).
Then stereo out from the VL2 back to the Kronos (which you cannot do!!!!! as the Kronos only has 2 inputs).... However you can SPDIF, so you could get all in's and out as required.

You could use SPDIF for ins and outs too (rather than TRS), so use the VL2 as an effects processor.

great solutions...

I'll try them

I have an EMU 1616m multi input output amd great internal routing, and I think I can try this solutions without problems.

your suggest was very helpful

I may be simply messing up my understanding of stereo theory. My microphone is currently only coming out of the left speaker which is what sent me down this rabbit hole. It sounds like all I really need to do is pan it center on my Kronos. The left and right inputs are likely by default panned left and right, logically;

Thanks!

yessss

that was the problem...

there's a guy that realized the editor. You can find somewhere in the forum pages.

If you want to manage a stereo output from all dry to all wet signal you can send to the expression pedal the amount of wet signal from the global setting, and try to manage it from there from a total dry signal (no voices no effects etc...) to a total wet. I'm not sure how to set it.. but I think is possible.

I use a lot this feature when I use my VL2 for recording
I record both track one dry and one wet so I can decide further, if mantain the wet track or if process the dry one in the daw with different effects, at the same time I can manage the amount of effect mixing both.

In live it is useful too to send to the main mixer the two signal so the phonic may mix the amount of effect applied as he cannot manage from the effets send return of the consolle as other equipment connected. He have two signals one dry and the other one allow to manage the wet amount.

I found this thign very useful.

To have a dry + wet stereo output, you need a 4 output gear... and it's not the VL case.

yes.. I know I can covnvert the sample rate of the project..
but I would like to know how to set the sample rate of the gear...

Why don't plan to put it in the next firmware, the option to set manually the sample rate?

I use 2 main pc, the notebook for live and a studio one, with different audio device.
For the live one I have an edirol M16 DX that support only 48 Khz and 96 Khz sample rate.

In the studio one I use or an EMU 1616m or a Terratec-CME UF 400 with a 44,4 Khz samplerate to avoid tempo issues with samples or video or waves, I had when set to 48 Khz.
All the recording projects are set to 44,4 Khz.

When I connected the VL2 to the Edirol via digital spdif it set to 48 Khz.

Yesterday I needed to connect VL2 to one of the studio devices at 44.4 Khz, but it didn't changed anyway. The devices could recognize it only with external clock set (clock from VL2) at 48 Khz, and wasn't able to chenge the VL2 clock to 44,4.
I tried to connect the output from the device to the input of the VL2, to switch of and on the VL2 iwth digital cables connected, but nothing. The sample rate stay at 48 khz.

How can I change the samplerate according with the audio device sample rate (I need to come back to 48 Khz in live situations)?

Now that the VLP presets are available for VL2... VL2 forever.....

Double FX tucked under the main vocal with reverb or Harmony FX going higher by a few cents and lower by few cent with reverb should get you in the ball park.

As for EQ you may want to cut out some of the low end and boost the high mid range.

right.. I did it so...

With the EV the bottom boost is a proximity effect, if you keep it, a few inch far from the mouth, you loose the bass boost, and keep only the very high and crispy sound.
At the same time if you need an AC DC sound the proximity boost will help..

I use EV 767 for hard rock  & heavy.. and it's wonderful..

Hi all,

With 1.0 versione (I've not yet updated I'll do immediately), after I downloaded all the presets, the editor show me only the parameters of the selected one (in the machine) and if I change preset (in the editor) I have no changes i the parameters shown.

If I understand right, preset data list does not change, if you change preset using the editor's list box on the top. This should not happen. If you a change preset (or step within s preset), the editor should reload all preset parameters. Does the editor's CC Midi channel match your device's setting ?
I will test that in the evening, just to be sure, that everything works right.

right you understood well
if was a problem with midd CC the editor could not load the list of presets and the parameters of the loaded one.
If it does I think the device is connected...
or not?
Where I have to set the midi channel?
It's possible that the problem is my device have settled CH4 (to use it for the harmony with midi sequencer)?
I have to change it to 1 or other when I use the editor?

Thanks

Ginsonic I don't know if I'm failing something or if it's a bug or something else..

With 1.0 versione (I've not yet updated I'll do immediately), after I downloaded all the presets, the editor show me only the parameters of the selected one (in the machine) and if I change preset (in the editor) I have no changes i the parameters shown.

I try to explain better.
Suppose I have 300 presets. And the machine is set to the preset #74 with reverb, fx and mmod.
I open the editor and acquire the list of preset showing number 74.
If I change preset (in the editor) for example the #10 with harmony, double, mmod, reverb. I continue to see the parameters of the number 74. And it happen with any of the other 300 presets.

How it works?
