Don't have a specific patch off the top of my head, but the transducer fx has 2 different megaphone effects.

Re: VLT + Pro Tools + Korg Triton Extreme + Digi 002 Rack + Mac Pro (10 replies, posted in VoiceLive Touch)
Happy to help, just wish we could get it working for you.
You could try loading one of the "notes" presets- those need MIDI input to make any harmonies at all. The results from that might suggest where the problem lies.
You can also control the harmonies through the 1/8" input on the VLT, but getting the MIDI input to work would be way better....

Re: VLT + Pro Tools + Korg Triton Extreme + Digi 002 Rack + Mac Pro (10 replies, posted in VoiceLive Touch)
If the VLT harmonies are not following the Triton, then we aren't quite there yet.
Are you positive the Triton is outputting MIDI? I have a Korg M3, and on that, using a Combi, I have to set one of the tracks to EXT (or both). You could test, if the Digi 002 is also a MIDI interface, by plugging the MIDI from the Triton into that, and recording a track into PT while playing the keyboard, to make sure that notes are being transmitted.
If all that is working correctly, the only other thing I can think of is the global setting I mentioned above- if set incorrectly, the VLT may be waiting for input from a guitar pick the harmony voices.
For 2) above, I often have the volumes get messed up on the VLT also. The setting is kind of buried- get into Advanced Setup and find the Output page, and check that it isn't turned way down.
3) nope, no on/off. Mine is plugged into a powerstrip that get turned off when I'm not playing.
Good luck!

I'd skip USB for now. Never used PT, but I'll assume it is basically like every other DAW.
Stereo vs Mono is up to you, but if you have 4 1/4" mono cables, then:
Triton Left and Right out will go to 2 inputs on the Digi. Set up a stereo track in PT with those 2 inputs.
From the VLT, use the TRS L and R outputs, go to 2 more inputs on the Digi, and again set up a stereo track in PT with those 2 inputs.
On the VLT, make sure Output is set to Stereo ( that's the default, it is under the Setup menu).
Last thing, make sure the Triton is sending out MIDI. Connect MIDI out from the Triton to the VLT. Check what channel the Triton is sending out MIDI on, and make sure the VLT is using that channel (also in the Setup Menu).
OK, now really the last step I think, is to check, again in the Setup menu, Nat Play Glbl. This tells the VLT what to listen to to determine the harmonies-I'd go with Auto until you have a specific reason to change it.
Think that does it!

Re: VLT + Pro Tools + Korg Triton Extreme + Digi 002 Rack + Mac Pro (10 replies, posted in VoiceLive Touch)
Only difference is that I was assuming the Mac, without an external interface, would limit you to just a stereo input.
With the Digi Rack, you can run both the Triton and the VLT into PT in stereo.
Does all that get you where you need to go?
If you wanted to record MIDI into PT from the Triton at the same time, things get a little more complicated, but if you just want 2 audio tracks, you should be set.

Re: VLT + Pro Tools + Korg Triton Extreme + Digi 002 Rack + Mac Pro (10 replies, posted in VoiceLive Touch)
I'm pretty good at connectivity, but pretty clueless about Macs.
There is more than one way to go about it, but probably the simplest is MIDI out from the Triton, to the VLT. That will control your harmonies.
Then just audio out from the Triton into the Mac, and Audio out from the VLT into the Mac. Each of those would be a separate channel in PT.
You don't mention anything about an audio interface, so I'm not sure if either/both the Triton and VLT can be stereo- that would depend how many inputs you have.

Craig,
Might be a little beyond your job description, but you should check out the Uno firmware for the FCB1010. It addresses many issues with the stock unit, and you can buy it burned on a chip for about 20 bucks.

Re: Problems Receiving Midi Signal From Keyboard (3 replies, posted in VoiceLive Touch)
Does the light go on if you move the modwheel or ribbon on the Triton? It should react to any MIDI signal, not just notes-this will tell you if MIDI is reaching the VLT at all. (EDIT, just tried this on my M3, and for some reason pitchbend does not make the MIDI light go on, but any of the other controls will)
If the VLT is receiving MIDI, but not notes, then look at the way the Triton is setup. Try a program not combi so there will be less variables.

Re: Midi note range and complexity of chords sent to a VLT (8 replies, posted in VoiceLive Touch)
I think he answered that?
It depends on the vocal note- it won't try to change the pitch more than 2 octaves, but it still will respond to any MIDI notes you play.
You could play a chord using MIDI notes 1,60, and 127, and it would still use whatever notes those are for the harmony, but it would change the octaves of those notes to be closer to the pitch of the vocal note.
In other words, you don't need to constrain the notes yourself, it will do that for you....

Here's a good comparison of RC50 vs RC300 if any one is interested.

Since this is TCH's forum I'll add that, for vocal processing, their gear is excellent, but people who are really into looping may still want to look further....

I think a big question is how much memory it has- 6 tracks sounds great, but how long can they be?

Wow! Looks like it addresses most of the VLT's short-comings and dubious design decisions.

Re: VLT and midi (6 replies, posted in VoiceLive Touch)
There is an option to set the channel for CCs, or it can be set to OFF to prevent them from being received at all. However, that is irrelevant- what is changing the patches is PC messages.
The setting right before the CC one is called Filter, and you want to set that to block PCs.

You can email him directly, that's what I did- just to clarify, he did come through, it was I that failed to do anything with it.I think they want to make you ask, instead of making it available for download, because it isn't really supported officially.

Just wanted to wish you luck with your project! I asked Craig to send me the same thing a couple months back, for the same reason, but I didn't get very far with it- hopefully you'll do better.
What app are you using?

Re: Voicelive Touch Looper problems (25 replies, posted in VoiceLive Touch)
So why the hell did you buy the touch when then the others offer more editability + effects? simply a no brainer.
The only product with more editability is quite a bit more expensive than the VLT. Looping was pretty much a bonus on top of everything else. The VLT was the best balance of price and features.

Personally I'd like to eliminate the looping functions (done more easily with dedicated loopers) and use those UI resources for more voice-related control.
Me too.

Re: Voicelive Touch Looper problems (25 replies, posted in VoiceLive Touch)
Keller Williams has some good advice: just focus on the 1st beat for both starting the loop and closing it.
Also, keep playing (or singing) through the point you close the loop for a few beats if possible- if you are anticipating stopping your instrument or voice right when you are stopping the loop, it's easier to have a subtle pause there which leads to the loop being less smooth.
Hopefully that will help someone conceptually.
I just bought a Boss RC-300. I'm completely satisfied with the VLT for harmonies and effects, wanted a real looper.

Why would it need to be rated at 2 A when the stock power supply clearly states 1A?

Re: Power supply for VLT and padlock icon. (4 replies, posted in VoiceLive Touch)
Looking at mine, it's 12 V, 1A with a 2.1 mm plug.
The other thing means it is Kosher.
Just kidding, it's for one of those security tethers to lock it to something.

Re: Midi & output level (8 replies, posted in VoiceLive Touch)
Sequencer is hardware? Software? Can you prevent it from sending specific CCs? Or block receipt on the VLT side?
I run in to the same problem frequently, using a Korg M3. It is a complicated workstation, with KARMA , and it can be hard to track down
what is going on with every patch. I'm using a MIDI pedal board with the VLT, so I can't just block the CCs.
