I told one of my friends about this place.  I am pretty new myself here too.

The thing I do before a show is I do not talk much at all.  And I have all this energy going, even though I am somewhat nervous. I do as you say Jaime, by putting it into a positive thing.  I come out from not talking and just go right into what we are there to do.  Entertain and rock out.  I focus all that energy into the music and singing and getting the crowd into the show with us.  My nervousness goes away and the fun takes over.

My vocal teacher told me after a few months that I could sing good enough in front of people.  I thought she was nuts.  She said to do some karaoke, so she took me to a place to watch people.  I picked a song to practice on and she helped me work on it.  Then I went back the next week and sung it.  I was so nervous I almost couldn't sing and felt like I was going to vomit.

That was seven years ago.  Now I sing in my band and I still get a little nervous before performing but I have a whole lot more confidence than I did back then.

I don't have this book yet, but that sounds interesting.  I read about it at Jaime's website forum.

there are so many I like which  have nothing to do with rock.  Christina Aguilara has a big voice for such a little person.
