Topic: New member showing some of my best metal screams!

Hey everyone. I've been lurking here for some time and really enjoy the great information that is shared. I'm a huge Rob Halford, Bruce Dickinson, Dio fan and used to sing in a band called Osiris way back in the day. Late 80's and through the 90's when high metal screams were still in vogue. (To some of us anyway! lol)

Here's a link to a youtube clip of my best high notes from back then.

I had no vocal training whatsoever and just did my best to sing the way I felt. I only wish I would have known about proper techniques that I've read about here and elsewhere. Love Jamie Vendera's book by the way!

Anyways, I'm the short blonde fellow with the big hair in the photos! Hope some of you dig my screams. I'm really wanting to get my voice in shape and get together with the old band mates for a jam.

By the way I think that learning Robert Lunte's vocal sirens will really help anyone who likes the Bruce Dickinson kind of singing. I started doing them a short time ago and they helped get me into my higher range without pushing too much air as I used to do in the past.

What a great forum you guys have here I must say! So many talented vocal instructors that give incredible tips all the time. I'll post another clip of me singing another style which is Tom Jones. I really got into his earlier stuff later in life and man did he have a set of pipes! I used to sing his songs at corporate functions while living in Ottawa and loved the response I would get from the ladies! lol wink

Anyways, here's me singing "Thunderball" from Tom Jones. Hope ya dig it!
