Topic: vocal warm ups WITHOUT annoying instructor
Hello, my name is Martin DeBourge.
My first ever post to these forums... so my sincerest apologies, I do not mean to offend resident vocal instructors - BUT
I am in search of a vocal warm up CD (or download, even better) of just piano scales - no teacher piping in with words of encouragement or an instructor who likes the sound of his own voice reminding me to open up my air passages for this next note - etc
I know that by definition, this excludes most teacher programs that they're trying to sell... but I like to get a good hour of warm up in each day, and I calculated that 15 minutes of it is wasted (I got bored one day) with a speaker saying things like "now we're going into head voice, remember to sound like a fog horn here" etc etc.
While on this topic, and if I may be so bold to ask... I'm currently reading "How To Sing" by Lillie Lehman (1924 opera legend) and she refers to the "Great Scale" which entails long duration notes of an extended scale... if this "great scale" is available in audio format I would be thrilled!
Any help?
thanks in advance
Martin
