Topic: pedal board power supply recommendation?

hello all! my new tc product requires 12v intsead of 9 volt..so wondered if anyone had any advice about the perfect power supply for a pedal board that would allow 9v and 12v power?

Re: pedal board power supply recommendation?

Hiya jonzo12,

There are several power supplies you can get which do this. A good example of this would be the Cioks TC 10. See this link for more info:

For further advice, it might be worth shooting this question accross to TC-Helicon's support team ( www.tc-helicon.com/support.asp ) as they might know of some other options.

Hope that's helpful!

Best wishes,

Joey

Hi Joey,

The Cioks TC10 that you linked to looks like a perfect solution for those of us who have several TC products on our pedal board.

Do you have any information on how/where the TC10 can be purchased by folks living in the USA?   There are no USA dealers listed on their website.

I emailed Cioks asking them how to purchase, but they have not responded.

Thanks,

Davey

Re: pedal board power supply recommendation?

Hiya Davey,

Sorry to hear they haven't responded. Unfortunately I don't have a seperate way to contact them. However, I would keep trying to email them as you are right in that it is the perfect solution for the issue you were having.

I would even try giving them a call using the info here: http://cioks.com/index.php?option=com_c … ;Itemid=48

I do happen to know that they speak perfectly good English smile

Best wishes,

Joey

I have the same question about power supplies.  I am wanting to use a single power supply for my pedal board. I am using a Voicetone Correct XT, Voicetone Single D1, and Voicetone Single R1. According to information found in the FAQ, TC-H recommends using the T-Rex Juicy Lucy or CIOKS TC-10. BUT, the Voicetone pedals all are rated at 12v 400ma, and these "recommended" power supplies have only have 300ma ports. Can I really use these power supplies? What about the TC-Helicon "Audio and Power Accessory Kit?" It is rated at 12v 1 amp, but it says it will power 4 pedals. However, 4 pedals equals=1600ma, or 1.6 amps. So, which of these options can I really use?

Re: pedal board power supply recommendation?

Remember that the brick doesn't really tell you what the pedal USES, only what the brick supplies. To get a good picture, you can do two things. First, most of the manufacturers of these power supplies have lists of items they know work with their devices, and/or online forums where you can look for other users of the same gear.

Second, you can buy/borrow/use an ammeter and measure what is actually being consumed. "Good enough" ammeters are pretty cheap, all you're really wanting to know (for example) is, does this pedal ever draw more than 300 mA? So get a  buddy to watch the ammeter (unless it has a built-in min/max function) while you put the pedal through its paces including startup and shutdown. Then you'll know how much capacity you really need.
