Topic: How to manage settings to get a main male voice: jazzy, Blues, ballads

Hi,

I have ordered a pedal board in which my VL2 will be included.
I am going to use a G-Lab GSC-3 to manage the pedals sounds with basically 3 settings: Jazz, Blues and ballads. I'd like to recall from the footswitches of the controller the associated vocals : I mean: when I press one => guitar jazz style + VL2 jazz style; 2 guitar Blues style + VL2 blues style for main vocal..

However, I do not know which parameters should I modify to create these 3 settings... such vocal settings do exist on the voice tone create.....but no way to have the settings to achieve these sounds...and I am not going to buy a voice tone while having the VL2 which is more complete...

Thanks a lot for your answer.
Chris

Hiya chuchi,

If the G-Lab product you mentioned can respond to midi program change then the VoiceLive 2 can definitely do this. As I am unfamiliar with this product, I would recommend that you speak to G-Lab's support first as they should be able to give you the best guidance on how to set this up.

As far as creating the 3 styles goes, there's no clear right or wrong here but more a question of personal taste. If in doubt, I would suggest listening to some recordings you like in these styles and taking note what kind of vocal effects and harmony they're using. Then, find presets that come close to sounding like what you're after and fine tuning them in the edit menu as desired.

It may also be worth posting your question on TC-Helicon's Facebook as there's 22,000 odd users there who might have some great suggestions for you.

Best wishes,

Joey

Hiya Chris,

You will need to have an account on Facebook yourself. When you have done this you can choose to "like" TC-Helicon (this makes you one of the fanbase). Then, simply go to the TC-Helicon page and share the photo on the wall by using the space at the top of the news feed.

Hope this helps!

Best wishes,

Joey

Hi Chris.

How much was the G-lab GS-3?  I've had a look at the website and their gear looks great.  I was thinking about the GS-5.  What made you choose the GS3?  I'm thinking of plugging in a TC Electronic Nova alongside a Voice Live 2.  Did they customise it for you with the Voice Live 2?  Which other units did you consider adding?

Thanks

Neil
