Topic: Harmony G gain engaged vs bypass?

I've rummaged through a number of threads and may have missed this in discussion. I've used the 'G' for a few years and am pretty happy with it. We tend to go light on the FX and the comp/EQ etc makes the guitar even in bypass sound good although we use EQ as well later in the chain (to bring out vocals etc).

Question is: has anyone compared the output gain especially with the later version (GxT)? It seems in bypass I get away with more but when the unit is engaged the gain may be higher? The 'G' comes in the middle of the gain chain (guitar output, footswitch, Harmony G feeding the mixer with EQ inserted to the PA).
