Topic: Shure SM58a Beta

My Beta58a has been morethan a solid performer for me over the years. I have gone thru many mics but to this day none of them top my Beta 58a! The mic flat out rocks!

I recently bought one too and just love it. works very well with the vlt.

I used a beta58 for years...It went down & i thought i'll get something better, i bought a ev 767, it sucks ass, then i got a audix om5, better then the ev, but i still don't love it.I guess i'll be getting a new beta.

Why did you think that the nd/767 sucked? In my experience, that microphone, and the AKG D5 are the top sounding microphones made right now. I've noticed that those two, and the Shure Betas are listed as "hyper-cardioid" microphones at Guitar Center. I own the first two and have tried the latter. I think the AKG and Shure are built more solidly, but the nd/767 has the clearest sound of them all. It does have to be babied more, as it isn't built nearly as well.
