Re: music

Hiya B4Neptune,

Just in case you're not aware - the full VoiceLive 2 manual does list all MIDI implementation from page 98.

For advice on hooking up your system to do this I would recommend that you contact TC-Helicon's support team as they would be the best people to walk you through this step by step:

www.tc-helicon.com/support.asp

I personally would recommend that you use logic for the program changes. I am unaware of whether there is a device specifically tailored for this purpose and would presume that keeping eveything "in the box" would be a more streamlined solution.

Best wishes,

Joey

Re: music

Did you find any solutions?

There's a thin line between life and music.

Current Rig For Vocals:
TC-Helicon VoiceLive 2 (FW 1.3.12 build 118), Beta Three U15aLE, Behringer Xenyx 1202FX, Line6 XD-V70
Genre: Variety

Mac 10.6.7/VoiceSupport 1.2.00 build 37

Re: music

ya sequencing you would have to send a click track through the monitors to ensure you stayed in time. I was considering sequencing it but it becomes a monitoring nightmare to get all the players to hear the click track with the rest.

Re: music

i want to offer my help, i recently got the VoiceLive2 and have NOT
yet tried this , but i used the following solution to send MIDI
to my Lighting Programm and this should work also with VOICE LIVE 2
If anyone has tried that SETUP, let us know, i will be trying this soon
in my theater

I have an iMAC which runs  QLAB

QLAB will play my Backing Song (Karaoke Song) and
parallel
Play a MIDI FILE that will send the Midi commands to the DMXIS LightingSoftware

I programmed the MIDI Fles in Logic Pro and they are pure MIDI Files
without the Music , just sending the BANK / PRESET Changes to the Lighting
Software.

When my engineer starts the SONG in QLAB , the Software will automatically
and paralelly to the Music start the MIDI TRACK.

adding a SECOND MIDI TRACK should not be a problem to be on the right
channel.

I will try this soon and keep you updated, theoretecally it should work

on the QLAB site there is also a tutorial on how to do this.

Re: music

Hi,
i have tried the following Setup that works PERFECT

iMac
QLAB Software from figure53.com
VoiceLive2 attached with USB Cable
DMXIS DMX Lighting Controller

For those that dont know the Software, Qlab is able to
play Music, Video etc. and also play Midi Files, Send Midi Commands

What i did and works:

Play a SONG from QLAB
Sending MIDI Files paralell playing to the Song to Steer the LIGHTING
Sending MIDI Controll Commands to the VOICE LIVE 2 switching Reverb, Harmony etc.
on and off

I have not yet tried to create a MIDI TRACK to do this basically paralell to
the Sound File, but sounds like this would be the same aplication.

So, if you are singing to Prerecorded Songs, this is the Route to go !
