Topic: I NEED a Footswitch to use with my Touch and NO ONE has it in stock!!!

Joey,
I know, I want to use TC Helicon's Footswitch for my Touch but there is NO ONE that has any in stock!  SO, PLEASE recommend another product I can use. I promise I will buy a TC Helicon one when it becomes available.  Can you please recommend one that at least tuns on the harmonies???  I can not use this product I bought until I get a footswitch. I have a Touch and also a Harmony G XT and if I can't get a footswitch I will have to sell the Touch.  I can not stop playing and "touch" the screen.  I only bought it because it was advertised with being able to activate with the footswitch.  IF you can point me in a direction where I can buy it or the G switch I will be happy to buy that one.  I know you guys don't promote others products, but if just a generic old guitar switch works to do the harmony I will use it until the TCs come in...  I am desperate..  Thanks so much... You can pm it to me if anyone knows one that might work I would really appreciate it..

It only ships to UK and surrounding.... I guess I will just go without the Touch.  May just sell it and go with the Harmony G XT or go without anything but me and the guitar.  Thanks for your help!

Hiya Curt,

The Switch-3 will be available again soon. Sorry for the delay and thanks for your patience. I understand it's frustrating.

In the mean time you can use a 3 switch footswitch manufactured by either Marshall or Digitech. I'm not overly sure of the model names, but I'm aware these should work with the VoiceLive Touch in a similar way.

I just built my own 3-button footswitch and tried it out tonight, and it works perfectly.

All it took was 3 switches from Radio Shack, a stereo 1/4" jack from RS, 2 diodes from RS, a little wire and a few pieces of wood from the local crafts store.

I thought for sure that I would have to rewire several times in order to get the order of the switches to match the Voicelive Touch preset schemes, but amazingly I lucked out and got it right the first time.

It's essentially an FS300 clone. A nice feature (feeture?) is that if you're bare-footin', the switches don't hurt like those silver "vacuum cleaner" style switches do.

I would consider drawing up a schematic if anyone is SERIOUSLY considering making one. Total cost was about $15 for parts and 2 hours of work.

Hi. I live in Australia & I just search in a site called thefind and had it within a week. Yet I was told wear I bought it they didn't know when more stock was available. It's worth havin the switch

Do any of these footswitches custom or otherwise provide MOMENTARY operation of the Harmony parameter.

None of these would allow for momentary because VoiceLive does not support that function natively.  You'd need a programmable MIDI footswitch that supported this (sending a CC value when pressed, and another one when released).  I have a Behringer FCB1010 that I'll hook up to mine, since I want to be able to control the effects independently.  No footswitch scene does more than just harmony, and I want to turn on/off at least harmony and doubling.

That said, one could probably just use the footpedals on the FCB1010 (that deliver continuous values depending on the angle of it, like a wah) and move it to extremes.  It's more athletic, but maybe quicker than two taps on a switch.

I have a G-Switch, is it compatable with the Voicelive touch? I tried to use it with no luck, I think my cord may have been bad though.

Next question, if it is compatable, is there a particular type of cord that is needed to connect the switch to the unit. I was just using a instrument cord.

Bought a VoiceLive Touch here in the UK just before Xmas.
The TC Helicon Switch 3 wasn't available from my usual supplier (where I bought my original VoiceLive many moons ago)and they were very honest in saying they couldn't confirm a delivery date until the pedals literally hit the shelf. Weeks passed and delivery on the switch extended (as of today "anticipated early February - ish") Seems to be the case everywhere else too.
It became pretty obvious early on that a foot switch is essential. Plus I've always liked TC's robust build quality. So in desperation I found one in France - higher price than UK - but it was one of six ...
Arrived yesterday - a day early!
I don't think I can post a link to the vendor here so please get in touch and I'll pass it on the details.

If you're electronically inclined you can build your own Digitech FS300 foot switch (which is perfectly compatible with the VL Touch). Just look it up on YouTube.

I built one myself and have been using it for the past 18 months with no problems. In fact, I'll even look it up for you. Back in a minute...

All I did was copy this guy's design, and then I made a wooden case with a sloping front panel to house it in. I used two black switches and one red (for "Record"). Works like a charm.

My understanding, though, is that most of the VLT's parameters can be accessed more fully with a midi foot controller, so I'm going to investigate that. But if you want a nice, perfectly working foot pedal and can solder wires together, try to build your own.

Disclaimer: You do this at your own risk. Your success or failure depends upon your own ability to solder and arrange components properly. ALthough this is an extremely simple and basic circuit, it is up to you, the VLT owner, to make sure that you have wired things properly with no shorts. OK, you can wear shorts if it's hot out, but other than that, no shorts. A short is defined as two or more wires touching that are not supposed to touch for proper circuit operation. The possibility of damage to the VLT is infinitesimally small (because it is a simple switching circuit) but it is there. I did not create the video. I simply successfully built a perfectly working footswitch by following the intructions.
