Topic: Excellent Mic Value - Blue enCore Series

I picked up an enCore 300 to replace my 87A last week.  Two gigs later - I am hooked on this mic.  Litteraly the best I have ever sounded.  It was on sale for $159 - an unbelievabler price and performance.

Last night, we demo'd some mics for my partner in a duo act that we are prepping for - first gig in one week. His money was tight - so the choices were a SM-58, an Audix OM-2 or the enCore 100. We used a Bose T1/Model II rig at the local GC for the comparrison. I set the tone match for the 58 setting for both the 58 and the 100. I set the OM2 to the OM2 setting. We first tested them all with no effects - no compression and flat zEq.

In short - the 58 sounded like mud - the OM2 sounded high strung - and the enCore 100 sounded full and nice. It was a no-brain decision - especially at the sale price of $79.  Regular price $99 - same as the other two mics

Before we left - we also messed around and found the good settings for the mics - and the enCore was still the obvious choice.

I should probably pick one up myself before the sale ends to have as a back up.
