Topic: timbre of voice
Thinking of buying VoiceWorks Plus. I have only one reason for being interested in this product. Let me explain...
I'm a good singer as far as singing on pitch, phrasing, etc, but my big problem is that I don't like the tone of my voice. It's kind of dull and flat. I want to be able to add resonances and overtones to my voice that aren't naturally present. Reading the VW+ user manual, it seems like only crude control of timbre is provided... for example, making the voice sound lower and deeper or higher and thinner. Or the so-called "thickening" of the voice. I am hoping that VW+ provides more than this, and indeed it would seem that more would be necessary in order to be able to "imitate other popular singers" as the brochures claim.
I've seen the videos of VW+ on YouTube but these videos didn't help because the singer in the video already has a great sounding natural voice without VW+.
Sorry for such a long post but it is difficult to put my question into words. I guess I'm wanting to know how much control of timbre of the voice is provided? Are there many parameters controlling various aspects of timbre, or only 2 or 3 parameters that provide a crude control over timbre? Can VW+ add overtones that aren't naturally present in the voice?
