Topic: Voicelive 2 pre recorded vocal effects with Cubase 3.2 Setup

Hi people,
I have been using voicelive 2 happily for LIVE work and now I want to add the finishing touches to my latest CD. Lead vocals and acoustic guitar have been recorded.
We tried a few things unsuccessfully so far:

Guitar AUX Out from DAW to Voicelive 2 guitar IN
Vocals AUX OUT from DAW to Voicelive 2 vocal IN
Outputs via L, R XLR's
- The result was harmony effect with an "un natural" sound. It was like Autotune was ON for all effects (although it was off).
Is this "hard cable" method technically feasible? Did I overlook a setting somewhere?

USB Cable method for Cubase 3.2 ( MOTU H0192 ) + ASIO4ALL
We were unable to find the voicelive or (Usb audio device) in the output lists, although it is available in the ASIO4ALL list. This may be a limitation of Cubase 3.2 or is there a work around?

I appreciate your assistance.
Best regards,

Re: Voicelive 2 pre recorded vocal effects with Cubase 3.2 Setup

Hiya Matt,

The hard cable method is viable and I have heard of quite a few people using it. It may just be the fact that the preset needs to be adjusted to your requirements. Was the "Pitch" button on?

As far as the USB method goes, this may be a limitation on ASIO4ALL so it may be worth asking in their support forum. However, it might be an option to use just the VoiceLive 2 on its own and follow the instructions in the manual for processing pre-recorded vocals. You can find the manual link here:

If you're still having issues with this - I'd suggest contacting TC-Helicon's support team so they can troubleshoot your setup with you via the following link:
