On Stage Vocal Processor

My daughter used the new TC Helicon H1 Harmony Processor this weekend at a county fair talent show. She was disqualified because the judges considered the unit to be a back up to her vocals. Their rules stated (Vocalists may use tapes or CD's with accompaniment only - no back-up vocals are allowed) What is the technical term of the this unit so I can contact them with an explanation? I thought their rules implied no back-up vocals from a tape or CD.
