Topic: Create or Correct?

Alright, after I buy myself a fancy new bass (Schecter Stiletto Custom 5 String, for those who care), I plan to invest in one of these two pedals.  My question is pretty simple: which one would you say is more important?  I sing and do screamo vocals for a metalcore band, if that helps at all...

Re: Create or Correct?

Create. It has actual effects on it that will help out a lot in your type of music; the Correct is processing like compression, eq, and some form of pitch correction but I dont think its auto tune

Re: Create or Correct?

Both... but if you have to purchase only one first... then get Create... its the EFX pedal... Correct is compression, Shaping/EQ...  Breck Alan has a good review of the VoiceTone pedals in his blogs on this site... and if you go to www.voicetonepedals.com you will find a special web site that TC-HELICON has put up for would be VT owners.

Re: Create or Correct?

I would go with the correct 1st.  Being a screamer you're going to want that compression, and the EQ shaping is phenominal.  Put it this way, if the source vocal sounds like muddy crap (not properly compressed, and eq'd) then when it goes through the FX it's just going to sound like "wet" muddy crap or worse.  Besides most PA's have at least some sort of FX processing or outboard gear already and they can add some FX as needed.  Once you've got your good source vocal, then move up to the FX.  Having a good source vocal that is properly EQ'd and compressed (espeically for screamers) and intelligible is worth way more than a little verb and delay.  On the other hand the create pedal is definately a lot more fun to play with, but judging by your taste in your bass selection, I have to assume that you may be a little more concerned with your tone first.  Start with the good solid foundation before you start adding the fancy stuff.

Re: Create or Correct?

OK, I'm not a screamer (usually)- we do 60's Classic Rock, Beatles, Stones, etc. I have no problems with pitch though vocal is muddy. I'm leaning thowards the Create- am I correct in thinking I should get that one first?

Re: Create or Correct?

Go with the Create pedal for your first pedal... the Create pedal is the "fun" one... its your efx... the correct pedal is your "engineer" in a box... like sing4 is saying, the compression is killer... what he is saying is if your singing at high velocities like a lot of rockers do, you my clip your signal and distort... so compression may be a priority... if not, go for the mojo first.

The best solution is to purchase both of them.  You can learn more about them and place orders here. www.voicetonepedals.com

Re: Create or Correct?

The Correct will definately get rid of the muddiness (assuming a properly tuned pa)...  I can't stress enough how important it is to get the source material sitting properly in the mix before adding color with FX.  Correct then Create... Adding FX to an already muddy vocal is just going to make it muddier.  Hope this helps.

Although the create pedal sure is fun to play with!  Get them both...that's what Visa is for!
