Topic: 'Voice Works Plus' - Need Some Advice On One Small Issue

I'm finally getting around to really using this unit, and have just one thing with it that I can't seem to tackle.

No matter what I do, I cannot completely isolate the main incoming vocal from this unit. I only want the harmony vocals to come out of the L-R stereo jacks, & nothing else.

I've got my Microphone going through an outboard compressor/de-esser, with it's main out going to my mixer, and a sub-out going to the Voice Works Plus input.

Then the L-R harmonies from the V W + go to their own respective L-R mixer channels right beside the Mic.

But what I'm getting is a trace of the main vocal feed coming though the L-R output on the V W +, regardless of whether I send the incoming signal in XLR 'Mic' in, Phono 'Line' in, or 'Digital' in, [which I suppose doesn't matter, but I tried all 3 to be sure].

When this unit is in 'Bypass' mode, my main vocal signal still comes through, which combines with the separate channel on the mixer, giving it a doubling effect, like a very thin chorus, which I don't want at all.

Even when I mute the Mic on the mixer, it still comes through the V W +.

I've gone up and down the 'Edit' & 'Setup' menus and have turned down or off every thing that has to do with 'lead vocal', which should have done it right there.

My presets are saved as user presests, and I save my changes as I go, but to no effect.

Am I missing something?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

james

Re: 'Voice Works Plus' - Need Some Advice On One Small Issue

Look in the manual for......

Lead Voice Level and Pan
LEAD LEV
This parameter sets the Lead Voice Level.
Range: Dryoff, Off, -30db - 0dB. The setting
DryOff mutes the dry input vocal, but allows
the thickening voices to pass through the unit
as if the lead level was set to 0dB. See the
“Signal Flow Diagram” for the location of the
Dry Lead Mute.

This is for Voiceworks, but not sure if it's same for the Plus model
