Hey, I really like the ability to add a gate on the input of the signal in the GXT. It really helps reduced background artifacts on harmonies. Any chance of adding some new Tone presets on an upcoming Harmony M firmware upgrade so I can enjoy this feature on my Harmony M???

The gate functionality was added to the product line after the release of VoiceLive 2 and then put into Correct XT and Harmony GXT. We're not able to go back to put it into the M, which was designed a few years before the gate circuit implementation.

Thanks for info. I do also own a GXT, but there is a catch-22! I love the new firmware stuff in the GXT, but I must have MIDI control of the device, which I can achieve with the Harmony M.
If you guys can't add the firmware enhancements (such as the gate) to the older Harmony M, could you provide us with MIDI control of the GXT?? This should be achievable via the USB port, correct? Of course, I know a VoiceLive 2 would do it for me, but I need very light, portable, compact equipment, and the floor pedal sizes are ideal for my performance setup.
Is GXT MIDI control a consideration for a future update?

It's already MIDI compatible. The firmware would just need to be tweaked a bit. It already shows up as a MIDI driver and also can work with MIDI System Exclusive data. All they need to do is get it set up to receive System Common data.

I just looked into it and there's no plans to make that product group midi-compatible in terms of System Common data. It's one of those situations where I can totally see how you'd want it on G-XT but we'd also have to implement it on all the other relevant products in that group to be "fair" to the user base. That's outside what we can make happen development-wise.
That said, I'll keep everyone posted on either changes to that decision, or new products that might just fit the bill perfectly for you. *shifty eyes* *can't talk about secret new stuff even though I want to*

Craig - I appreciate having a company spokesperson such as yourself to monitor forums such as this. Many companies leave their customers in the dark when it comes to learning to use equipment, or to request features.
It looks like I am stuck for now .... the GXT has the gating I need but no MIDI control; the M has MIDI control but no gating! And since I really need MIDI control, I am now using the M in my permanent performance setup.
I look forward to a new product that will do it all, in a smaller non-rack-mount form factor!
