Create xt and a Boss RC-50 loop station..feedback issues

Okay, so i have an RC 50 loopstation which i use live on stage and at home for fun, I don't really use a mixing desk and PA just my guitar amp as i play small pubs etc and want to stay as portable as possible.

I thought it'd be nice to add some vocal effects to my loops but when i connect my mic through the voicetone Create xt and into the mic port on the rc50 i get loads of feedback unless i turn the inputs down to unusable levels... I'm assuming that this is because both devices have mic pre-amps so the signal is to hot when arriving at the rc50..

can anyone see a way to solve this without using a desk?
does anyone use anything different to add effects to there vocals for looping?
