Topic: VLT Power cord

What is the reason why there is no on/off switch on the VLT? Would it cause any damage to wire one into the cord?

Re: VLT Power cord

Hi Ibishop,

We designed the products without switches to withstand tons of plugging/unplugging the power cable, so I wouldn't worry about it too much. Obviously, don't yank the cable out or pull it at a crazy angle, but as long as you're reasonable with it, you'll be fine smile

Cheers,
Craig

Re: VLT Power cord

I agree it is annoying, i do what many do and that is have a 4 or 6 gang extension lead that has individual switched socket's and there is quite a lot of gear out there that has adopted the same principle of no on board power switch. Two probable reason, one might be cost, but the other is failure rate of switches, in my time i have had to dismantle loads of equipment and replace the swicthes, and some of these switches are very hard to get hold of. Power jacks are generally more robost, but i would suggest getting a switched extension lead, much easier, no mod to equipment required and no warranty issues either.
