Topic: Another Problem: Sudden Shutdwon

Hi,
This morning I was playing my VLT and it worked well. Suddently my VLT rebooted and it is still rebooting every ten-twenty second.
I tryed to reinstall the update, but the VLT crashed. I've tryed to reset all to the factory setting (pressing bass, low and octave), but nothing.
It's still shutting down!!

What can I do...???

Re: Another Problem: Sudden Shutdwon

Hi

Have you tried leaving the device unplugged from the mains for a few hours, there was a thread a while a go where the customer left it unplugged for a day or two, then the machine would power up enough to do a fresh firmware flash.

Re: Another Problem: Sudden Shutdwon

I've tryed, shox... It seems to be worst than before...! Sincerely, I don't Know what to do! it worked perfect yesterday!!!! Please, help me...

Re: Another Problem: Sudden Shutdwon

An information: when i try to reinstall the firmware, it goes well until 100%. But at the end VLT does not reboot completely: it remains updating (led blinking on the display and on the delay bank).
I've tryed both 348 and 367. What else can I do?

Thanks for all!

Re: Another Problem: Sudden Shutdwon

Hi nacksius,

Since it was re-booting often and now won't take the firmware properly, I'd suspect some sort of issue that needs to be addressed by service.

One thing to try, if you have a MIDI output on your computer, would be to update via a MIDI cable and MIDI-OX. Sometimes, sending the .syx file that way can overcome difficulties updating via VoiceSupport.

http://tcsupport.custhelp.com/app/answe … kw/midi-ox

You'll need to find your .syx file, which will be in something like:
C:\Users\XXXYOURNAME\AppData\Roaming\TC-Helicon\VoiceSupport\VoiceLive Touch\Update Files

It may be a hidden folder and/or in a different location than mine (Win7) so you might have luck just searching for VoiceLive Touch (including hidden folders) and see if you can find it. Select the 367 .syx when you get to that stage in MIDI-OX.

Cheers,
Craig

Re: Another Problem: Sudden Shutdwon

Hi, Craig. Thx for the answer...!
I haven't got any midi output on my macbook... sad
Is there any other suggestion?

I've bought VLT one month ago and it never has created problems... five days ago, as you suggested me, I reinstalled the older firmware (348) to record loops on my macbook.
On saturday I recorded my first serious loop and VLT started to reboot while I was listening the result playing on my notebook through the headphones linked to the VLT ( I set VLT as the audio output of the macbook): was it wrong? Because I've never read about it anywhere!

Thanks for the attention...

Re: Another Problem: Sudden Shutdwon

Hmm, random rebooting sounds more like a hardware than a software issue. Double check that the power supply is secured. Give it a wiggle at the unit and at the outlet to see if the unit reboots.

If it reboots wiggling at the outlet, you can try a different outlet, powerbar etc.

If it reboots wiggling at the VLT, or you can't reproduce it that way, I'd send a ticket into support to see if you need to have it serviced/replaced.

Also, try a different USB port if you have more than one, just to see if there's something up with the port you're using that's causing a shutdown.

Re: Another Problem: Sudden Shutdwon

Thanks, Craig, You're so gently!

I've got no choice: I've to send my unit to the authorised center here in Italy.

I've bought my VLT only one month ago sad
I hope they will replace it with another one: I'm so sad for this accident...

Re: Another Problem: Sudden Shutdwon

If the unit re-boots when nothing is connected except the power supply, sounds like a unit to send back for repair.

Unless the PSU is at fault, do you have any way of trying another power supply from another VLT?

If it goes back for repair, make sure you send the PSU back along with it, incase this has caused the problem, or is indeed the problem.
