Topic: Plz explain presets vs favorites for parameter changes

I am having a devil of a time working out the programming of my VLT.  Specifically the relationship between presets and favorites.

My goal is to have a patch for every song.  With only 25 favorite locations I can't store the 40 to 50 songs I need for a show in favorites.  So I planned to program each preset as a song with all settings needed for the song and then just roll to the correct preset for each song.

But I can't seem to get changed settings to 'stay' on presets.

When you change and save a parameter, are you changing the preset or only the favorite?

For example.  I put preset #1 into  favorite A1.  I change the key to Dm1 and hold down (flashing) 1 to save.  Did I just change preset #1 to Dm1 or only favorite A1 to Dm1?

PS: I have Key/Scale Gbl off so I can have a separate key per song.

Re: Plz explain presets vs favorites for parameter changes

Hi,

The favourites are stored in seperate location to the presets.

If you run the voicesupport software, and examine the presets displayed, you will notice that the last 25 in the list is the favourites, that you have customized.

If you want to have one of your customized favourites to be a preset, click the favourite preset and drag and drop that to the preset you wish to overwrite, and choose the copy feature. You can even rename this preset if you wish,  then when you have done with all the copying etc, make sure that you press the apply preset button at the top left of the screen

To sumerize, modify the preset you like, and save to favourite location, then open voicesupport software and copy and rename the favourite to seperate preset location.

This is best practice anyway, as a favourite can easily be modified and messed up on the fly, if you have a copy of the favourite stores in a preset you can easily get it back.

Hope that helps

Many times I say only 'yes' or 'no' to people. Even that is too much.

Re: Plz explain presets vs favorites for parameter changes

Thank you so much for this reply.  I think this is exactly what I needed.

It is almost addressed in the documentation but this extra detail you added makes it all logical now.

It seems what is missing from the documentation is:
There are 300 'slots' in the active table.  From 1 to 275 are read only and can only be 'copied to' or renamed.  Only slots 275 to 300 can be edited on the VLT unit itself and then pushed back into VoiceSupport for repositioning.

So it would seem if you did not have a computer and VoiceSupport, you could not modify the presets, only the favorties.  Seems like an odd limitaton.

Now if I can only figure out why my Delay block will somtimes only edit parameter 4, level and not change parameters...  I'll start a new topic if that contiues.

Thanks again!
