Topic: Voice Live Touch Help Needed

I got my Voice Live Touch in the mail today and was very excited to give it a quick test before I had to go to work, I attached My Microphone, the USB/Fire-wire cable and the power cord and decided to use audacity to just give my new hardware a test.....My microphone doesnt seem to be picking up anything, I played with the volume knobs on the side of the voice live touch, still nothing, played with the volume control settings on my computer and still nothing, I thought for a second that mabe my microphone was broken, I plugged it up to a different device I had and my microphone worked flawlessly....I installed the drivers, I also installed the software from the CD that came with the Voice Live Touch.....I cant seem to get my microphone to pick up on any sound when it is attached to the Voice Live though.....mabe im doing something wrong, any suggestion? please help, thank you.

Re: Voice Live Touch Help Needed

Please try the following ( for build 367 and earlier as has aux in level issue, that is being used in the example, as the aux level will default to a valuue that will allow you to hear aux, after a power cycle).

Turn the vlt off, then on again.
Connect a music source to the vlt via the aux in at the rear 1/8inch jack ie ipod, pc, cdplayer etc.

Plug headphones into vlt, and increase the headphone volume until you can hear the music going into the vlt. if you can not hear music, try another headphone ( as the the vlt socket is recessed slightly and some people have reported problems with connecting some headphones).

Hopefully by now you can hear music.

Now the Mic.
Plug the mic in and increase the mic gain on the the vlt until the little green light flashes on the vlt informing you that it has a signal, if it flashes red then it is clipping, so reduce the mic gain.

If you still have no sound from the mic, make sure that the Phantom power is turned off if your using a dynamic mic, if you are using a condensor mic make sure that phantom power is turned on.

please down load the manual for the Voice Live Touch

and look at pages 15

I hope that gets you going
