Topic: VL play gtx manual

Hi there kind folks
if i turn the pot on the side of the unit will the universe implode ? as it's not in the manual.
Also no guit tuner?
also are the instrument i/o jacks like the harmony GXT i.e so close together you can only use narrow jacks
Thanks any info would be great

Re: VL play gtx manual

Hi Ronny,

The input gain knob is covered in the quickstart guide. There's instructions there to set up the correct gain. www.tc-helicon.com/products/voicelive-play-gtx/support/

I've never had the inst in/thru interfere with any of the 1/4" cables that are around the office. I don't think you'll find them too close together.

The guitar tuner is activated when you press/hold HIT (Talk Mode) only when there's something plugged into the Inst IN. I think it may have been overlooked in the manual. I'll check on that.

Thanks!

Craig

Re: VL play gtx manual

Hi Craig thanks for that i couldn't find any reference to that knob, i thought it may be an overall output or something like that.
I have used the harmony g and xt for years and their inst' in/ thru jacks socket wont take the like of Neutrik or whirlwind type jacks as they are to close together but realise thats not a problem on the gtx anyway as i will use the xlr out for the guit.
There's no reference to tuner in the manual.
Do you think the mic pre and vocal effects quality is on par with the Harmony gXT or is it a step back to accommodate the tc electronic guit effects? I'm am absolutely delighted with the Harmony GXT sound and ease of use and setup, i started out with the voicelive which i learned to tap dance on but moved to VL 2 but it was too big then the H g then XT. I am liking this for the guit effects
Thanks again,

Re: VL play gtx manual

Hi Ronny,

I updated the manual to cover the tuner. Thanks for the catch on that one big_smile

The effects quality is the same as the VoiceLive 2/Rack/Touch. It uses the same processor and algorithms but has less depth of editing than the VL2 or Rack and fewer harmony voices than all three.(2 instead of 4 and no Choir)

The GTX sounds like it might be right up your alley. It's compact enough to fit in a small area but is much more customizable than a Harmony G-XT with its presets.
