Hey Jaime,
Yeah, there are those of us who come from a more hands-on perspective when learning gear. I have a bit of a bias in that I test and offer development suggestions to TCH, but there are lost of concessions to make when developing a user friendly product.
Features - we all want the biggest band for the buck. Sure enough, I'll get a piece of new gear home and begin a list of things they should add. This goes for any manufacturer.
To keep the processing nearest to real time, software optimization creates a huge development effort.
To keep costs withing reach of the average rock star, ;-) There needs to be a balance between the best, fastest and largest processors available, and the price someone is willing to pay for the end product.
So - a two line display as big as my USB thumb-drive, well, at least the whole VW+ unit only takes up one rack space!!
Sometimes I use the Vyzor editors (by Psicraft)on my computer - to see the entire interface on my laptop.
As always, I know the TCH staff read the forums from time to time. Perhaps even some home made but clear YouTube videos are in order. Consider though the expense of a top notch studio pro, videographer, reproduction and distribution to the customer base as well.
I do two things when I learn a product. Read the manual, and mess around. Mess around usually comes first. :-)
When I am working in the unit early on, I do two other things... modify existing presets and learn the capabilities of each parameter I'm interested in, and start from a blank preset with nothing engaged, and build from there - you get to know the UI in a hurry.
Maybe a menu map at a glance would be helpful - cheat sheet.
Some suggestions as to what unit-specific questions come up that a tutorial would assist with from those people reading this would be helpful. I can't speak for TCH, but naturally, any tutorial is a good idea.
Thanks Jaime.
