Topic: control g-sharp and voiceworks from the computer using one midi in/out

Hello everybody,
I have a g-sharp and a voiceworks tc racks. I'd like to use the editors for both racks but I only have one midi input and one midi output on my soundcard. Can I use the midi thru connection of the voiceworks to send the midi signals to the g-sharp? and then a reverse midi thru unit (does something like this exist?) to send both midi outputs (both racks) to the midi input in my souncard? Would something like this work to controll these two racks from the computer?
thanks in advance for your answers.

greetings from Denmark.

Alvaro.

Re: control g-sharp and voiceworks from the computer using one midi in/out

Hi Alvaro,

The Thru would be fine to get the editor signals to the 2 rack units. You would need a MIDI Merge to "mix" their two MIDI outs together to send to the computer. I found the early MIDI Merge boxes to be a little touchy on sysex. Mind you, modern units may be better.

Hope this helps a bit!

Best,

Joey
