Topic: Harmony G Question -- Avoiding Guitar Bleed through

I own the Harmony G and like it a lot...except for one thing...

The mic picks up the acoustic guitar and the Harmony G tries to process it, ending up with a warble sound in the mix....

How do you avoid this?

Using an SM58 mic....

Thanks,

JackL

Re: Harmony G Question -- Avoiding Guitar Bleed through

Hiya Jackstrat,

Here are some general tips for improving "bleed" from other sources:

- Consider the type of mic you use… Hypercardioid / cardioid is best because of its pickup pattern; http://www.mediacollege.com/audio/micro … stics.html
- Make sure you’re singing as close to your mic as possible (lips touching)
- Consider in-ear monitors if your fold back is super loud
- Make sure PA speakers, guitar amps, bass amps etc aren’t pointed directly towards your mic
- If you are using the Harmony-G XT, make sure you are using the "Gate" feature
