WE absolutely must seize the moment. I've been a professional singer for 18 years. However, only recently, have I rekindled the true calling for my voice. At the end of the day...I'm a crooner. About 2 years ago I found myself unhappy, terribly in debt, and without inspiration...all seemingly in the pursuit of my "dreams."

Finally, Instead of being an Eor, I attempted letting go, in small ways mind you, but none-the-less giving way to the universe before me. It takes time to unravel a life time of bad clothing.

I prayed, meditated, asked for guidance and decidedly gave up trying to control all of the variables in my life. Instead, I began training myself to notice the myriad small details or bread crumbs that tie life's circumstances together. Oddly enough I was at the root of my own disorder.

Friends began to notice positive changes in me. Most said I seemed calm and happy yet far away. The truth is, I was and still am. I had begun carving away the dead weight in my life, the enablers, the users, and as well...those very same aspects of my own character.

Life is a journey and it is arrogant to blame others for one's own condition. Often as artists we tend to beat ourselves up mentally, physically, spiritually that our best is somehow not good enough. Ultimately I had become a consummate singer, dabbling in everything to find anything. Finally I’ve have come back to my roots and singing better than ever.

Be true to yourself. Experiment, try on new styles and ideas but be sure to maintain your ethics and principles and release all struggle. Since doing this, I am happy, debt free, and filled with inspiration. I don’t think too much about what I should do, but just do what feels natural each day. Answer the phone, respond to emails, got out into your public and connect with them. You will be blown away how many doors begin to open before you. Gigs will come out of the wood work. All you/we/I have to do is be strong enough to walk through them. After all, there’s no bravery in being out of range.

Namaste,

Brian
