NAMM is one of the largest music product trade shows of the year and a prime opportunity for manufactures to show off their latest products. Going through some of the hundreds of new and exciting products on display we have brought to you our top selection of gear which will soon be hitting the shops. We hope to get the chance to review of some of these new and exciting products in the near future.
DPA d:facto II Microphone
DPA Microphones has introducing the d:facto II Vocal Microphone at the 2013 NAMM Show. Aiming to provide a true studio sound for the live stage, this latest addition to the d:facto line offers an extraordinarily natural sound, high separation and extreme SPL handling. In addition to wired use, the d:facto II also adds a new adapter system that allows for seamless integration with many professional wireless systems.
TC-Helicon/ Sennheiser e835 fx
TC-Helicon and Sennheiser have teamed up to produce the e 835 fx microhphone. Sennheiser has added TC-Helicon’s Mic Control technology to its professional cardioid dynamic lead vocal microphone design so that you can control their range of vocal processors and multi-effects directly from the microphone.
M-Audio Re-Launches Studio Microphone Line
M-Audio is reintroducing a number of models from their popular range of recording microphones at NAMM. The Sputnik is a multi-pattern large-diaphragm vacuum tube condenser microphone offering cardioid, figure-eight, and omni-directional patterns. The Nova is a large-capsule cardioid condenser microphone, which delivers the open warmth of a large capsule mic in a cost-effective package. Finally, the Pulsar II matched-pair small-diaphragm microphones are ideal for evenly capturing any stereo source, from a piano to a choir.
Studiomaster Starlight PA Speakers
Studiomaster have announced an innovative new concept that combines stage lighting with PA speakers. Comprising a pair of two-way stand- or pole-mountable cabinets, included in each speaker, is a recessed side slot housing six high-power LEDs with dispersion lenses. The in-built lighting controller features 13 programs, including seven static colours, fade to colour change and sound to light, while brightness and speed are also adjustable.
AKG DMM6 & DMM12 – Automatic Microphone Mixers
AKG has introduces its new line of digital automatic microphone mixers – DMM6 and DMM12. The systems automatically level match all vocal microphones connected to them to a target level and automatically adjust EQ and compressions to ensure every word remains clear. It also intelligently works to deter noise pickup from unwanted sound sources and automatically create a feedback-stable system.
Shure BLX Wireless Systems
The new BLX Wireless Systems from Shure come in a variety of receiver options, including a half-rack size for installed applications. BLX systems are designed to perform right out of the box, making it perfect for individuals who want the benefits of wireless systems without the set-up obstacles. There is a range of microphone capsule options, including Shure’s PG58, SM58, and Beta58A and the systems delivers a performance range of up to 300 feet, with up to 14 hours of battery life.
Sonivox Vocalizer Pro – Synthesizer for PC & Mac
Vocalizer Pro is designed to bring a harmonic/melodic voice to any audio input, thus vocalizing the sound. Simply singing or speaking into the synthesizer can intuitively create deep and complex musical results using advanced vocoding and re-synthesis. In addition, Vocalizer Pro allows the creation of simple or complex vocal harmonies that can extend far beyond the natural limitations of the voice.
MXL Launches 2 New Microphones
MXL adds to its line-up of studio microphones with the CR-89 and the Genesis FET Vocal Condenser Mic. The CR-89 Condenser Microphone versatile microphone with a very low proximity effect, making it ideal for up-close recording. The MXL Genesis FET is a professional studio microphone designed specifically for vocal recordings that has a low-noise FET circuitry to ensure high fidelity recordings.
