Einstein once said that no one could really be creative beyond the age of eighteen because after that age most of us lose our childlike curiosity, our childlike passion to try new things with intensity. But there are some exceptions to that (including Einstein himself) and certainly Ruby Turner who exemplifies an artist focusing with passion on music for music's sake. I think this explains the phenomena of the one-hit wonder. The artist created his hit when he had passion but with his new-found success he has grown up, he has been corrupted and he has lost his childlike passion and hence cannot recreate another hit.
