Sophie Love – ‘You Don’t Want Me Back’ – Original

Bio: Hi I’m Sophie Love (16), I’m the girl who has never quite understood the way our hearts behave. I write songs about what is going on in my life because I love the feeling of hearing something so heart-felt it describes your exact emotions and feelings. When I was little I always used to love, in school, when we had to write our own poetry but I never really thought anything of it at the time. Then a few years down the line I started playing the guitar and a few months ago I rediscovered my love of writing so I decided to put them together. I’m kinda new to the guitar I have basically taught myself everything I know. I have never written a meaningless song, they always mean something to me or are about a stage in my life. I love songwritting most of all, and singing just comes along with it. Sometimes I will sit there for 5 mins and write a full song but sometimes its harder. Because my songs are about what’s going on in my life the more drama or experiences I go through the easier songwritting becomes.

    The best material always comes from personal experience. You've got a good voice. Doesn't have that “nasal” quality a lot of young singers develop.

    You know that it will become even more easy for you to sing/develope once your guitar playing becomes better. Self thought? Good!!! But it would not hurt to get a little advice. Once the “sounds” from your guitar are more clear and in tune, that will make the foundation for your singing and songwriting to be even better. Keep up the good work, I like your style :-)

    Hi Sophie,

    Thanks for sharing…seems you've got a bit of the ole' Joan Jett in ya! I think you're off to a good start, just need to work on your confidence when performing. Some of the other guys mentioned voice lessons…this won't just help with singing, it'll also open you up your sense of rhythm and ability to really work your audience with tempo and melody. Keep writing!
